What we offer:

Blues Foundation uses rugby values and rugby based curriculum programmes to develop children and young people. Our programmes have been designed around the Bedford Blues values: Passion, Adaptability, Unity, Sustainability and Enjoyment. These values are an integral to help promote a positive mentality on the games field, in the classroom and at home.

We offer the below range of projects to schools and sports clubs:

Specialised Rugby Coaching:

In depth rugby coaching, focused on team and individual skills and tactics. Specific areas of development identified and worked on whilst keeping the enjoyment. Also help with safety conscious areas such as the tackle, scrum and line out.

Rugby & Reading:

Our flagship programme, Rugby and Reading, is designed to engage children in the benefits of reading and participating in sport. Our dedicated team deliver bespoke tasks and activities based on the action at Bedford Blues, alongside active tag rugby sessions. This programmes improves literacy as well as confidence, behaviour and self esteem, and provides a strong link between the classroom and values of rugby. KS1 and KS2 options available.

Rugby in Numbers:

Engage children in basic mathematics and numeracy, whilst participating in sport. Improves confidence, engagement, behaviour and provides a strong link between the classroom and values of rugby. KS1 and KS2 options available.

Spelling & Sport:

Engage children in spelling and participating in sport. Includes spell tests and new word introduction with support alongside multi-sport practice. Improves confidence, engagement, behaviour and proves a strong link between classroom and values of sport. KS1 and KS2 available.

Breakfast Clubs:

'Wake Up' games using hand eye co-ordination games to prepare children for learning straight away!

Lunchtime leaders:

Oversee and manage playground games in a safe environment. Encourage children to be active at lunch and promote a healthy atmosphere through team games.

After School Clubs:

Provide extra-curricular activity with specialist sessions ran after the final bell. Registration and sign out included. We also help identify potential pathways for the children to enjoy sport outside of school.

Rugby Camps:

Come and experience a rugby camp with Bedford Blues Foundation, receive high quality coaching and fun, engaging sessions with friends and team mates. Our rugby camps are delivered in Bedford, but could be delivered at your rugby club, please get in touch for details.

Option to either cover PE lessons or support/upskill teacher on specialist coaching areas.

Guard of Honour:

Matchday package at Bedford Blues home matches to form the welcome tunnel as the players run out on to the pitch. Includes a training session pre-match, talk with the players and certificates.
