Safeguarding
Safeguarding statement:
At Bedford Blues Foundation, safeguarding is central to everything we do. We are fully committed to promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of all children, young people and adults at risk who take part in our programmes, activities and services.
Our goal is to create a positive, inclusive and trusted environment where every individual feels valued, respected and protected from harm. We recognise our collective responsibility to safeguard those in our care from all forms of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
All our staff, coaches and volunteers are carefully selected, appropriately vetted and fully trained to uphold the highest standards of safeguarding practice. We actively promote a culture of vigilance, transparency and accountability, where everyone is encouraged to speak up about concerns or poor practice without fear or hesitation.
Through robust policies, continuous staff development and strong partnerships with local safeguarding boards, statutory agencies and community organisations, we ensure that safeguarding remains integral to all aspects of our work.
We are committed to learning and improvement — regularly reviewing our procedures in line with current legislation, national guidance and the Department for Education’s Keeping Children Safe in Education framework.
Above all, Bedford Blues Foundation aims to provide a safe, inspiring and supportive environment where every participant can thrive, realise their potential and enjoy positive experiences through sport, education and community engagement.
