 Tackle LIFE:

Tackle LIFE looks to use the power of sport and education to inspire young people who are disengaged from mainstream education or those at risk of offending and offers an opportunity to develop fundamental life skills and support their wellbeing.

Through a series of workshops, practical activities and one to one support, each young person will have the opportunity to develop confidence, resilience and communication skills, as well as support their own physical and mental wellbeing. Tackle LIFE is delivered by professional coaches and staff who will support the young people through their journey and ensure each participant is able to get the most out of each session.

Why Tackle LIFE:

  • Tackle LIFE is specifically designed to support the physical and mental health of young people who need additional support.

  • The programme looks to improve attainment and behaviour through a support pathway and exposure to new skills and experiences.

  • Tackle LIFE gives young people an opportunity relax and learn in a safe environment and build fundamental skills which will enable to tackle other challenges in life.

What to expect:

  • We provide a series of workshops developed by trained professionals that focus on mental wellbeing, leadership, employability and confidence.

  • Each young person will be supported each week by the same members of staff to ensure they are comfortable and get the most out of their journey with us.

  • On top of the workshops, we offer an opportunity to be physically active using a range of different games, activities and sports to build teamwork, confidence and communication skills with peers.

Who can access Tackle LIFE:

  • We work closely with Bedfordshire schools, Bedford Borough Council, and Bedfordshire Police to ensure we reach the right young people who would benefit most from the programme.

  • We aim to target both boys and girls who are disengaged from mainstream education and receiving additional support from their school or council services.

  • If you are from a secondary school in Bedfordshire and feel you have students that would be suitable, please use the form below to get in contact.

Blues Foundation would like to thank the Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Bedford Borough Council, and The Gale Family Trust for their continued support funding Tackle LIFE, as well as delivery partners Blues Community and research partners the University of Bedfordshire.
