Sue Pearson to run 7 Marathons in 7 days!
Sue Pearson chooses Blues Foundation as three charities benefit from her almighty challenge!
We are delighted to join MacMillan Cancer Support and Sue Ryder in receiving donations in support of Sue’s 7 marathons in 7 days.
In January this year Sue decided she needed a new charity challenge to push her boundaries and promote worthwhile courses. This is no easy challenge and will require immense mental strength as well as physical toughness.
Sue’s challenge starts on Saturday 10th May and finishes Friday 16th May. Her marathon routes will vary throughout Bedfordshire across the 7 days and you can support her along the way!
Sue explained:
“In January this year I decided I needed to give myself a challenge that could raise some money for charities! Those of you that know me, will know that I have run a marathon or two so I decided to try something very tough and run seven marathons in seven days. Mad I know, particularly as I struggled in London last week!! It won't be the fastest ever challenge but hopefully my legs will support me for 7 days.”
Sue and her husband John have dedicated hundreds of hours in recent years to raising vital funds for charity. Most of their fundraising so far has been for Macmillan Cancer Support, but for this unique challenge Sue decided to run for three different charities - Macmillan Cancer Support, Sue Ryder - St Johns Hospice and Bedford Blues Foundation.
Macmillan has been a cause close to Sue and John’s hearts, supporting people when close family and friends needed them most. Cancer can affect you or your family in so many ways, Macmillan are there to give people the support they need.
St John's Hospice (Sue Ryder) will also benefit from the challenge, the Hospice has supported close family and friends of Sue, as well as many people locally. They provide the most wonderful care and make a positive difference during even the darkest hours.
Sue is also supporting Bedford Blues Foundation - a charity that supports vulnerable children and young adults by inspiring the values of rugby and sport to promote positive lifestyle choices. John is also a Trustee of Blues Foundation and sees the impact of their work regularly.

This challenge is something very few people attempt, let alone complete. It would test the strongest of athletes which makes Sue’s efforts even more remarkable.
We wish Sue all our luck and will support her along the way, you can too by tracking her progress over social media, or supporting her causes above.
Good luck Sue!
