Schools night Success!
Thank you to all 11 schools who attended our Bedford Blues Foundation Schools Night. The energy from each school, and enthusiasm and resilience from pupils helped make the evening a tremendous success despite the challenges of Storm Claudia.
More than 150 pupils braved torrential rain to join us at Goldington Road, taking part in a fantastic range of rugby activities, quizzes and our interactive Blues Trail. From the moment the children arrived, their excitement was clear, and it was brilliant to see them fully immerse themselves in every element of the night.
One of the standout moments came as pupils formed a lively guard of honour, giving the Bedford Blues players a roaring welcome onto the pitch. Later, the children had the chance to take centre stage themselves during the half-time parade, proudly representing their schools in front of a packed and appreciative home crowd.
Their commitment was rewarded with a nail-biting match, as everyone watched the Blues secure a close and hard-fought victory over Caldy—a result that added even more celebration to the evening.
At halftime, we had the pleasure of presenting Hazeldene Primary School with a signed and framed Bedford Blues shirt. This special moment recognised their continued partnership and unwavering support for our charity’s work in providing opportunities, wellbeing and positive experiences for young people across Bedford.
We are incredibly proud of how every pupil, teacher and volunteer rose to the occasion. Despite the storm, the atmosphere was electric, and the sense of community shone through all night.
A huge thank you once again to every school that joined us. Your involvement is what makes Schools Night so special, and we look forward to welcoming you back next year.
